Sheriff Chris Dickinson is adamant about training.  We at the Itawamba County Sheriff's Department believe that one of the most important tools for doing our jobs properly and better serving the public is training.  Sheriff Dickinson is constantly sending the deputies to schools on various types of training. 
    





     We have a federally funded training facility located in Meridian MS, on the Naval Air Station  called RCTA (Regional Counterdrug Training Academy) that offers training of all types at no cost to the department or taxpayers.  Departments from all over the United States send their officers to the RCTA training facility where we receive the best, most modern training available.  Along with the training, the RCTA provides 3 meals per day at the "Galley" and housing at the CBQ (Combined Bachelor's Quarters) or the Lakeside housing facility.  All of these expenses are paid for by the RCTA.

Above is a picture of "Mount City" that is located at the training facility.  The RCTA has built these structures for tactical training and are available for your agency to use any time there is no class scheduled for that particular day.  They have many different structures available for you to utilize including a store, mobile home, hotel, barn and others.
